Jeffrey Wilson
Jeff Wilson has been with CAS for 22 years working in content, product development, product management, and most recently analytics. In his current role in Data, Analytics and Insights, Jeff manages a team of data scientists focused on applying machine learning to scientific data. He is responsible for managing teams in the development of AI-enabled solutions, most recently for prior art searches within the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) of Brazil.
Before joining CAS, Jeff worked as a process development chemist for Novartis Crop Protection (now Syngenta) where he had a focus on efficient, large-scale synthesis and process safety. Additional responsibilities at CAS have included chemical nomenclature, terminology, structure handling, and managing teams responsible for document and structure analysis as well as building and maintaining the CAS chemical substance Registry database.
Jeff has been a member of both the IUPAC Division of Chemical Nomenclature and Structure Representation (Div VIII) and the ACS Committee on Nomenclature, Terminology and Symbols. Jeff has a BA in Chemistry from Grinnell College and a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Iowa. He lives in Upper Arlington, Ohio, and in his free time he is an amateur fencer.
