Managing IP kicks off research for 2025 Awards and rankings

IP STARS and Managing IP Awards 2025

Firms are invited to participate in the research process for the 2025 Managing IP Awards programme and IP STARS rankings

Managing IP's research team has commenced research for the 2025 edition of the IP STARS rankings and the Managing IP Awards programme. The research comprises an analysis of submissions, market feedback from interviews and surveys, and independent research.

Today, we are announcing the submission process for law firms. The submission process for those working in-house will be announced in October.

Firm submissions

The most important way for firms to participate in our research is to submit their firm questionnaire and client referee documents. We use the submissions to determine firm and practitioner rankings and the Managing IP Awards programme.

Updated research documents

Firms will notice some changes this year. Among other things, there is now a new way to identify confidential case studies in our firm questionnaire, and we will now accept one spreadsheet for referees.

The submission deadline is October 31 2024.

The submission portal

As many firms already know, our proprietary portal allows users to create accounts, submit their research documents, and have access to them in the future. You can access the portal here.

Register to listen to our webinar

We will host two webinars, on September 17 and 19, to provide information and answer questions about our research process and publications. Registrants will receive an automatic notification to listen to the recording if they are unable to join live.

A recap of the 2024 edition

Managing IP successfully hosted ceremonies for the EMEA Awards and Americas Awards. All the firm rankings and the IP Stars list for 2024 are now available on ipstars.com.

Our editorial colleagues analysed the rankings (trademark, patent, the IP Stars list, copyright and transactions). However, we still have the 2024 Asia-Pacific Awards, Rising Stars list and Corporate Stars list to announce at the end of this month. Please look out for the announcements.

Please read and follow our research and results publication timeline here. If you have questions or concerns, please contact our research team.
