Richard Spriggs is an intellectual property manager at the Australian government agency Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation.
His strong communication skills and ability to share knowledge and to identify problems collaboratively have helped CSIRO’s IP team, according to his nominator.
Within CSIRO’s IP team, Spriggs leads his own portfolio and has a strong knowledge across a breadth of IP law.
He has a background in engineering and previously worked as a patent attorney for IP firm Spruson & Ferguson before joining CSIRO in 2021.
He also worked as a patent examiner for IP Australia between 2012 and 2014.
"Spreading awareness about the value of IP is a compass guiding us towards a landscape where creativity is cherished, ideas are nurtured, and progress thrives,” he tells Managing IP.
