Owen James has been working as a solicitor at the Admiral Group in the UK since 2018 and handles the financial services company’s intellectual property portfolio.
His nominator tells Managing IP he’s “delighted” to recommend James.
“Owen did not originally have a background in IP but quickly picked up knowledge, expertise, and a strategic approach to managing our portfolio,” says the nominator.
On top of his IP management responsibilities, Owen has been working on a trademark litigation that could affect how the Admiral Group operates in several countries.
“It has been great watching how Owen has risen to the challenge of engaging with and influencing our senior executive management to ensure that everyone is informed, aligned, and on message as the case progresses,” his nominator says. “I wholly trust Owen and I know our brands are safe in his hands.”
Owen, who has been educated at both Cardiff University and Nottingham Trent University, tells Managing IP that he enjoys the challenges of managing a global trademark portfolio and the opportunities it brings to develop relationships with various stakeholders across companies.
“I look forward to continue evolving our IP strategy to ensure our future business needs are met.”
