Daniela Valera has been praised for her passion for work, professionalism, and ability to communicate with clients and external advisers – all key ingredients that warrant a place on our list.
The legal assistant at Backus – a subsidiary of the global brewing company AB InBev – has been with the organisation for a little over three years but has, according to her nominator, become a key player.
Valera has not enjoyed a slow start to her career, being made responsible for the surveillance of more than 2,500 registered trademarks in Peru, where she works, and a further 200 registered abroad.
In addition, Valera has worked on oppositions and registration of new trademarks as well as finalising coexistence agreements.
She explains: “It is an exciting challenge to look after the IP of a company that manages and creates such a wide range of products, innovations and campaigns at an accelerated rate.
“We have successfully registered over 1,500 trademarks and been able to reach several coexistence agreements with competing brands.
“I am certain that along with the company's growth and success, we will continue to strategically protect, both nationally and internationally, some of the most beloved trademarks in the Peruvian market,” she adds.
