Ana Gouvêa Monetti, legal counsel at Siemens in São Paulo, works at the cutting edge of intellectual property law.
As a specialist in data and emerging technologies, Gouvêa Monetti has in-depth knowledge of those fields, which are rapidly evolving and becoming increasingly interlinked with IP.
Her nominator recalls Gouvêa Monetti’s contribution to the launch of an R&D centre related to artificial intelligence (AI).
“She guided the review of a public-private consortium agreement and led very important discussions on a tailor-made IP framework for the project,” the nominator says.
Gouvêa Monetti joined Siemens as a legal intern in 2017, and her responsibilities have grown at a steady pace since then.
Since taking up her current post in July 2020, her work has included dealing with issues arising from Brazil’s General Data Protection Law, and negotiating R&D and innovation contracts.
As well as AI, the internet of things, software-as-a-service, and cloud computing make up her key areas of focus.
