The firm has signed a collaborative agreement with Munich IP firm Fleuchaus & Gallo, which has eight patent attorneys and lawyers.

Adrian Tombling (right) will move from London to Munich to head the new office as senior partner.

The firm believes that having a Munich presence will help it to handle client matters in Germany and to keep in contact with the EPO and European Patent Institute. It is also a strategic move ahead of the introduction of the Unitary Patent and Unified Patent Court.

Withers & Rogers has some 160 staff in the UK with offices in London, Bristol, the Midlands and Sheffield.
