Find out about the research for the 2016 IP Stars

We are hosting a webinar next month to introduce the research for, and answer your questions about, the next edition of Managing IP’s IP Stars

IP Stars is our guide to the leading firms and individuals practising IP worldwide. It includes rankings of law firms and practitioners (in private practice and in-house) as well as detailed analysis in more than 50 jurisdictions.

The research process takes more than six months and involves questionnaires from participating firms, interviews with lawyers and in-house counsel and analysis of public information such as case reports and IP office data.

This year’s research will start in September this year, with publication of the 2016 IP Stars beginning in February next year.

We know that many people have questions about the IP Stars research, including how much information to provide in the questionnaires, who is eligible for inclusion, how the methodology differs from other legal directories and how we decide who to contact and include.

So this year, for the first time, we are going to host a webinar before the research process gets underway. The webinar (register here) is on September 3 at 5pm (London time) and is open to all – though it might be of particular interest to legal marketers and business development professionals who are responsible for submitting information on behalf of law firms.

The one-hour webinar will include an introduction by two of our research team, Jakob Schnaidt and Kingsley Egbuonu, and a short presentation by Philip Cox of Global Law Marketing (pictured, left to right), who has a lot of experience making submissions for law firms to various legal directories.

There will be ample time during the webinar for you to ask questions of the presenters and raise any issues regarding the 2016 research.

In the meantime, you can read the 2015 rankings and analysis on the IP Stars website.
