Duane Morris has added three new partners to its IP practice in Chicago, bringing the total number of new partners hired firm-wide since September last year to 11.

Richard Ruzich and John Maher both join the firm from Epstein Becker & Green. Ruzich is a registered patent attorney with the USPTO and previously served as head of the patent law practice at Epstein Becker. He focuses on IP litigation and counselling of clients in the high-tech and pharmaceutical industries and also has a considerable appellate practice. He once worked as a trial attorney for the US Department of Justice.
Maher is proficient in IP litigation as well, and has served as IP counsel in disputes in federal courts and the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He also handles licensing and transactional matters for companies across industries such as electronics, engineering, pharmaceutical and biotechnology.
Robert Gould joins the firm from Bell Boyd & Lloyd, and will concentrate in patent litigation, licensing, prosecution and due diligence. He is a registered patent attorney with the USPTO and specializes in stem cell technology, diagnostics and generic pharmaceuticals. He formerly served as a vice-president of IP at biotechnology research firm Integrated DNA Technologies, where he was responsible for the companys patent and trade mark prosecution and licensing agreements.
