Until recently, bankers' involvement in intellectual property would most likely have been limited to financing IP owners, helping to value portfolios and advising on the sharing-out of assets in mergers and spin-outs. Not any more. As Emma Barraclough reports in this month's cover story, financial institutions are increasingly visible as IP owners and licensees in their own right.
