Oman will become the 74th member of the Madrid Protocol on October 16 this year, after the country deposited its instrument of accession to the treaty on July 16.
It is the second Gulf country to join the Protocol, after Bahrain.
On the same date, the Budapest Treaty on microorganisms, the Patent Law Treaty and the Trademark Law Treaty will also enter into force in Oman.
