The senior counsel of Walt Disney Company has joined Orrick
Herrington & Sutcliffe.
Intellectual property litigator specialist Christopher Ruhland
joined Orrick's Los Angeles office as of counsel. His practice will
focus on intellectual property, litigation and entertainment.
"I am extremely excited to return to Orrick," said Ruhland. "As
much as I enjoyed working with my colleagues at Disney, I really
missed private practice."
Ruhland was an associate at Orrick until 1998, and then at
Riordan & McKinzie until 1999, before moving to becoming the
senior counsel at Walt Disney.
At Disney, Ruhland supervised the company's IP rights and its
litigation in coordination with other studios, record and software
companies and trade associations.
