IP trading catches on in Japan

Alps Electric has become the latest Japanese company to attempt
to cash in on the Japanese Government's focus on exploiting the
country's unused IP. In November, the company set up IP Trading
Japan (IPTJ), a wholly-owned subsidiary, which will buy, sell and
license patents and offer consulting and evaluation services to
other businesses hoping to profit from trading in their IP.
